Filtrexx® Riser Pipe Filter October 5, 2014

Filtrexx® Riser Pipe Filter

Filtrexx® Riser Pipe Filter is a three-dimensional tubular sediment and storm water filtration device used to treat retention/detention pond water prior to riser pipe structure entry and final discharge.

Filtrexx® Riser Pipe Filter traps sediment and soluble pollutants by filtering runoff water as it passes through the filter and by allowing water to temporarily pond behind the filter, allowing deposition of suspended solids.

Filtrexx® Riser Pipe Filter is installed around a riser pipe pond outlet structure, filtering storm water pond sediment and soluble pollutants prior to final discharge.

Acceptable applications include:

Around drains or inlets located in a sump

  • On compacted or frozen soils where trenching is difficult or not possible
  • On pond liners were trenching and/or staking will compromise the pond liner
  • Storm water containment areas where sediment or suspended solids loads are above acceptable discharge limits
  • Storm water containment areas where nutrients, bacteria, metals, or hydrocarbon loads are above acceptable discharge limits
  • Areas where pretreatment of sediment and soluble pollutants is necessary to improve performance of downstream practices (i.e. treatment train design approach)
  • Areas where water quality is a concern; discharge is near receiving waters, fish bearing waters, high quality streams, recreational waters, sensitive aquatic ecosystems, or TMDL 303(d) designated waters.

Filtrexx® Temporary Seeding October 5, 2014

Filtrexx® Temporary Seeding

Filtrexx® Temporary Seeding is a temporary vegetation and erosion control practice used on hill slopes to stabilize disturbed soils on and around construction activities.

Temporary seeding is generally used for rapid vegetation establishment for soil stabilization where soils may be re-disturbed or where erosion control blanket practices are unnecessary.

Filtrexx® Temporary Seeding is a ½ in to ¾ in (12-20mm) layer, or 70 to 100 cubic yards/acre (135-193 cubic m/ha) application, of Filtrexx® GrowingMedia™ mixed with specified seed and applied to hill slopes with a pneumatic blower truck or similar equipment.

Filtrexx® Temporary Seeding is recommended for the following applications:

  • Disturbed soils that will undergo future disturbance
  • Cut and fill slopes under construction
  • Soil storage areas and stockpiles
  • Permanent vegetation establishment that requires a nurse crop
  • Stabilization of temporary runoff diversion devices, dikes, and sediment containment systems
  • Curbside buffers on residential construction lots prior to vertical construction or final phase.

Filtrexx® Runoff Diversion October 5, 2014

Filtrexx® Runoff Diversion

Filtrexx® Runoff Diversion is a three-dimensional tubular barrier used for diversion or redirection of runoff otherwise flowing to disturbed or erosion prone areas on and around construction activities.

Filtrexx® Runoff Diversion should be used to direct runoff to stabilized areas, storm inlets, conveyance systems, containment areas, or storm water treatment systems. Filtrexx® Runoff Diversion can be used as a temporary or permanent runoff diversion device used to protect disturbed or fragile areas under the following conditions and applications:

  • During excavation
  • Prior to erosion control practice installation
  • Prior to vegetation establishment
  • Prior to final soil stabilization
  • During habitat or ecological restoration.

Filtrexx® Sediment Trap October 5, 2014

Filtrexx® Sediment Trap

Filtrexx® Sediment traps are temporary dry pond sediment containment detention systems used to capture sediment and settle suspended solids in runoff from disturbed soils less than 5 acres (2 ha).

Filtrexx® Sediment traps are also used to capture sediment and settle suspended solids from detention pond outfalls and/or potential overflows. Sediment traps can be converted to, or retrofitted for, permanent (post-construction) Low Impact Development (LID) stormwater quality detention systems.

  • Allows for trapping and settling of suspended solids without major excavation, land disturbance, or pond construction
  • Easily customized to fit most types of watersheds/ drainage areas
  • Installation of Sediment traps require no trenching, therefore soil is not disturbed upon installation or removal
  • Easy removal and disposal
  • Targeted pollutant removal
  • Reduced ecological footprint: recycled, biobased, locally manufactured, indigenous materials, carbon neutral

Filtrexx® Concrete Washout October 5, 2014

Filtrexx® Concrete Washout

Filtrexx® Concrete Washouts are a solids separation and water pollutant filtration device used for temporary, passive filtration of contaminated effluents and point sources of contaminated water. Filtrexx® Concrete Washouts use our patented tubular filtration structures.  Filtrexx® Concrete Washouts can be used as a pretreatment or final filtration system for solids separation and soluble pollutant reduction.

  • Customizable size and shape
  • Targeted pollutant removal
  • Great for “Pump-arounds” for creeks
  • Above ground for easy removal of accumulated solids
  • Great for Sediment pond and dredge cleanout filtration
  • CAFO Manure Lagoon Solids Separation

Filtrexx® Check Dams October 5, 2014

Filtrexx® Check Dams

Filtrexx® Check dams are a three-dimensional tubular check dam device used in storm water ditches, channels, and swales, on or near land disturbing activities. Filtrexx® Check dams are designed to slow concentrated storm water flow velocity, reduce bed erosion, and filter sediment and soluble pollutants (nutrients, bacteria, metals, hydrocarbons) present in storm water runoff.

  • Lower cost and maintenance compared to Rock Checks and Silt Fence
  • Customizable diameters: 8,12,18,24,32 inches
  • Can be vegetated and permanent applications
  • Easy removal and disposal
  • Reduced ecological footprint: recycled, biobased, locally manufactured, indigenous materials, carbon neutral.

Filtrexx® Inlet Protection October 5, 2014

Filtrexx® Inlet Protection

Filtrexx® Inlet protection is a three-dimensional tubular sediment control and storm water filtration device designed for storm drain and curb inlet protection. Sediment and soluble pollutants (such as phosphorus and petroleum hydrocarbons) are filtered from runoff water as it passes through the organic structure, and by allowing water to temporarily pond behind the Inlet protection, allowing deposition of suspended solids.

  • Emergency overflow prevents flooding
  • Easy to maintain, replace, and repair
  • Do not need to remove storm grate to install
  • Flocculants available
  • Available on pallets
  • Heavy duty Soxx™ available for high traffic areas
  • Reduced ecological footprint: recycled, biobased, locally manufactured, indigenous materials, carbon neutral

Filtrexx® Sediment Control October 5, 2014

Filtrexx® Sediment Control

Filtrexx® Sediment control is a three-dimensional tubular sediment control and storm water filtration device typically used as a Silt Fence Replacement (perimeter control device) for sediment and soluble pollutants (such as phosphorus and petroleum hydrocarbons), on and around construction activities.

Filtrexx® Sediment control traps sediment and soluble pollutants by filtering runoff water as it passes through the organic structure, and by allowing water to temporarily pond behind the device, allowing deposition of suspended solids.

Sediment control is also used to reduce runoff flow velocities on sloped surfaces.

• 50% more design capacity and flow through than silt fence
• NO Trenching, NO Soil Disturbance
• Easy removal and little disposal costs
• 8x less maintenance than silt fence (USEPA)
• Exceeds federal standards
• Reduced ecological footprint: recycled, biobased, locally manufactured, indigenous materials, carbon neutral.
• Can be Installed by trained, certified professionals
